Do You Have Room in Your Inn?

homeless1 One of the ongoing programs of our church is our participation in the Room in the Inn program. Room in the Inn is a program of the Campus for Human Development that partners homeless persons with area congregations. Each week, congregations open their doors and offer hospitality to the homeless of Nashville.

Helping Our Neighbors After The Tornados

This comes from Jason at the Annual Conference office:

TEMA has requested the Tennessee Conference to provide volunteers to help canvas counties to hand out flyers and encourage affected persons to register with FEMA. When the federal disaster declaration is completed and the final list of counties is determined, there will be a short training session and then volunteers will be deployed. We need volunteers that may be able to offer 1 to 2 weeks of their time. If you can help with this important task, please leave your contact information at JBrock@tnumc.org or with the Conference Office at 615-329-1177. We will provide more information as it is available.

Potato Drop Postponed

We just received word this morning that their are no potatoes available for our Potato Drop this Saturday. It's with regret that we have to postpone this event until the Fall.

Sorry.

Loving Neighbor Resources

Here are a few sites that help us to better love our neighbors...

Outreach Project Dates Announced

The Outreach Team, led by Brian West, is pleased to announce that the following projects have been scheduled for 2006.

The 3rd Annual Potato Drop has been scheduled for March 11, 2006 and will be held on the church grounds. This project involves sorting some 40,000 pounds of potatoes to be used by local hunger agencies.

We have also scheduled a date for our annual participation in the Nashville Sounds Habitat for Humanity Build. We are scheduled to work on the house on Saturday, August 26. This will take place in the Providence Park subdivision near Paragon Mills Elementary School.

Please contact Brian West if you have questions about either of these projects by calling the church office at 832-6248.
