Jesus was once asked about what he understood the core of faith to be about. He replied by sharing what he understood as the main tenets of the Jewish law, to love God with all our hearts and soul and mind and strength, and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
Love is at the center of Christian belief. We believe that God is love, that God loves us deeply and passionately, and that we are called to share God's love throughout the world. We do that in a variety of ways, demonstrating the love of God by helping the hurting, the hungry, the hated, and all who find themselves on the margins of society.
