manthano = the Greek word for learning

manthano = an experience in growing as a disciple of Jesus Christ

manthano is a 30 week discipleship development group/class that helps participants to become more familiar with the scriptures, basic Christian theology, faith practices, and the call to share the love of Jesus Christ with the world. However, manthano is more than a class focused on dispensing information about the history and traditions of the church. It is a group of like minded persons gathered together to be formed in the image of Christ. Each week participants will gather in a two hour session that balances learning about about God, Jesus, and the church with experiencing the presence of God in our daily lives. Throughout the week, participants will take part in a variety of practices that will better help them to understand the life of faith more clearly, as well as connecting with the holy at work, with the family, and at play. The goal is the formation of disciples of Jesus whose minds, souls, and bodies all express a relationship with the one who created us.

manthano will begin with an introductory session on Sunday, August 10 at 4 p.m.
