There are many great resources for helping the bible come alive online. Here are a few for your study.

Textweek.com Designed primarily for preachers who are engaged in lectionary sermon preparation, Textweek has access to all sorts of resources for study on a particular text. Click on the “Scripture Index” tab at the top and you can find resources for almost any biblical text, including commentaries both old and new.
Bible Gateway Bible Gateway is an online bible with access to many different translations, as well as access to some older bible dictionaries and commentaries. Bible Gateway also includes some bible reading plans for reading the scripture through in a particular period of time.
Holman Bible Dictionary Produced by the Southern Baptists, the Holman Bible Dictionary provides a starting point for better understanding words and concepts in the scriptures.
Wesley’s Explanatory Notes Those of us in the Wesleyan tradition can always appreciate hearing what John Wesley thought about a particular biblical text. Here are his notes on the bible.
